My favorite project this semester was the projection photography project because you got to experiment and really let you be creative with poses, angles and backgrounds in your photos. The project I learned from the most was the nine visual blunders in photography because some of the blunders were obvious but others took me by surprise and were things I never really thought of until this project. The alter ego project used the skills and techniques from other projects because it incorporated photoshop skills, like using the eraser tool, dragging one photo onto another, and brightness, and photography skills, like angles, lighting, and keeping the camera still, and put them into one project. My photoshop skills from the beginning of the year to the alter ego project improved a lot and I used past experiences to not make certain mistakes again. The least important project this year in learning the concepts taught in this course was the gradient portrait. Although it was a blast doing and I would love to do something like that again, it seemed like something I would do in a typical art class, not a photography/computer art class. The shadow photography project reflects me as an artist because it was more nature and landscape types of pictures to get the shadows in it. Overall in this class I would like to see a little less with photoshop and a little more photography or more like the staple city so you have to actually build what you take pictures of. Art/design can help change the world for the better by raising awareness for lots of important topics and getting points across in different ways than just talking. It has impacted my life because it has helped me with creativity and lets me try new things and experiment on all sorts of things I would never be able to do by just drawing. I have never been a great artist but digital art is something I learned I’m much better at and still have a lot to learn.
